Aug. 10th, 2010 08:35 pmI totally just fixed Chris's computer. He called me at work in a panic because he was getting 8 million pop-up security warnings and couldn't open any of his programs because they were all infected by something.
The trial version of his anti-virus program ran out months ago, and he forgot to remind me to get on there and load McAfee, which is what I had already paid for on my computer, and can put on up to three more for the same price.
By the time I got home from work and tried to see what was going on, whatever malware, Trojan virus thing was in there was blocking internet access, and I couldn't open a damn thing.
Fortunately, booting it up in safe mode and running system restore worked long enough to get me the internet access back and to download McAfee, which is currently scanning his entire system for issues.
Yeah, you POS "Antivir Solution" bullshit, run and hide like the little bitch that you are!
I'm really not very gifted when it comes to technology -- so the fact that I was able to fix this A) at all and B) without additional cost -- kicks ass.
Skillz. I haz them. LOL.
